Institution of The Revd. Keith Rengert as new Rector of the Reepham & Wensum Valley Team Ministry
On Monday 18th September at 7.30 pm, the formal Service of Institution of Keith Rengert as our new Team Rector took place in St Mary’s Church. The Service was conducted by the Bishop of Lynn, The Rt. Revd. Jonathan Meyrick and the Archdeacon of Lynn, The Ven. John Ashe. The Congregation of about 150 included invited guests, serving and retired clergy in the Team Ministry, and the Churchwardens of the 13 parishes. We thank Jaime Mallett for being our Organist. For anyone who has not witnessed a Service of Institution and Induction, it is a moving, historic, formal ceremony, commencing with the robed clergy and churchwardens, carrying their staffs of office, processing through the church to the chancel. During the Service, Keith was led by the Archdeacon to the main doors of St Mary’s where he formally took possession of the benefice and churches. Keith next tolled the bell of St Mary’s, which is inside the Vestry and he was then led to take his place in his stall in the Chancel. Four chosen parishioners from the benefice presented Keith with the symbols of Ministry: water, the Bible, the Book of Common Prayer, a jug of oil and bread and wine. The Service ended about 8.30pm and was followed by refreshments in St Michael’s. Click on the link below to see the Order of Service.
