Reepham Benefice

Christopher arrived as Rector of the Reepham Benefice in August 2007, following a curacy at St. Peter with St. James, Brackley. Before Ordination, Christopher was a Reader (Church of England term for a lay Preacher) for over ten years serving mainly in rural parishes.
He trained for ordination at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford , which gave him an insight into a tradition of the Church of England which is very different from his own. This enabled him to see more fully the breadth of practice within the Christian Faith.
Prior to Ordination, Christopher had a varied career, beginning his working life in the army, and then taking jobs in the civil service, warehouse management, and finally within the funeral industry.
As a curate he developed his use of puppets in All Age Worship with his sometimes cheeky companion, Roger. He also spent time as a Mental Health Chaplain , and set up a multi-faith Chaplaincy service. Alongside this Ministry he has gained qualifications in psychology and psychiatric studies.
Christopher’s passion in Ministry is to develop an inclusive worshipping community where all can feel welcome, and where the richness and variety of church traditions and expressions, both old and new are celebrated. He enjoys well ordered Liturgy, but is equally comfortable in informal worship settings. He is also passionate about sharing God’s love in the wider community.
Christopher is an Oblate of the Benedictine community of Our Lady and St. John in Alton , Hampshire.
Christopher has many interests including the mountains of Wales, kite flying, sea fishing, Oxford and playing the didgeridoo.
